Our Carbon Neutral Journey
Escar maintains an environment-focused approach in all its activities. Recognizing the significant importance of combating climate change, the company diligently pursues necessary development activities to reduce its carbon footprint. This includes efforts in energy efficiency, sourcing energy from green energy sources, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting waste recovery from a circular economy perspective to protect biodiversity. Steps are being taken in line with these goals.
Ensuring Air Quality, Combating Climate Change, and Adaptation:
In light of the 2030 Sustainability Goals related to emissions, targets, current status, and development processes are carefully monitored. Efforts to reduce carbon emissions are continuously pursued.
Exhaust inspections of our vehicles are regularly monitored, with processes in place to ensure timely inspections. Vehicles receiving warnings for increased carbon emissions or reported issues are promptly directed to the nearest service center for resolution.
Complaints regarding exhaust emissions from our vehicles in traffic are given immediate priority, with necessary actions taken to resolve the issue.
Through these processes and regular maintenance, we maintain a count of ‘zero’ for vehicles with non-compliant exhaust emissions.
Carbon emission values of all vehicles in our fleet are shared with customers to promote awareness. We encourage the selection of low-carbon emission vehicles when multiple options are available.
For fleet acquisitions, we prioritize low-carbon emission vehicles, even when not explicitly requested by customers.
Real-time monitoring software is utilized to track the carbon emission performance of all fleet vehicles, enabling identification of areas for improvement in line with our 2030 goals.
Escar has invested in a ‘shared minute-based car rental’ service within our subsidiary company, comprising 100% electric vehicles. This initiative aims to reduce the number of vehicles on the road and support the creation of cleaner, more liveable cities.
We also operate a subsidiary company providing charging station services for electric vehicles, further supporting our ‘zero’ CO2 emissions target.
In alignment with our environmental sensitivity regarding waste recovery, vehicle tires are recycled as raw materials for tires and rubber, ensuring waste is returned to the economy without environmental damage.
We obtain green energy certification (I-REC) based on our electricity consumption, supporting our country’s renewable energy strategies and the growth of the green energy sector’s market share.
